Camino is doing an Oktoberfest prix-fixe menu on Mondays all month, and it’s “fantabulous,” says escargot3.

Recently, the first course was a delicate salade composée of carrots, beets, and cucumber. It’s followed up with house-made pork jowl sausage, sauerkraut, and “total jaw-dropping smoked pork,” says escargot3.

“The thing I woke up thinking about this morning was the smoked prunes that came with the pork,” says flavorenhancer. “Sweet, earthy, falling-apart soft and super-smoky.” The porkapalooza also came with “an extremely tasty house-made German pretzel,” says escargot3.

Dessert was an exceptional hazelnut ice cream, served with chunks of dark chocolate and schlag (German for whipped cream, and so much more fun to say).

At $30, the prix-fixe menu is a great deal, considering that the same entrée is $25 on the regular menu and the portions are good-sized. Other great picks from the regular menu: salt cod fritters with puntarelle, smoked mussels, and wood oven-roasted figs with bay leaf ice cream.
