Thai restaurants in the Theater District are numerous but hit-or-miss, so Chowhounds usually stick with standbys like the original Wondee Siam for real-deal seasoning. But Pongsri‘s little-discussed Midtown branch also delivers the goods with terrific nam sod—a ground-pork salad with ginger and chile (pictured)—plus curries, a coconut omelet, and noodle dishes like ba-mee pra-ram in peanut sauce.
