The name sounds intriguing, but what exactly is an Omnivore World Tour? It’s a globe-trotting event that includes both master classes and something called “four-hand dinners” prepared by two chefs cooking together at a third chef’s restaurant. The San Francisco leg includes classes from Davy Schellmans of Belgium’s Veranda and hometown hero Danny Bowien of Mission Chinese Food, along with four-hand dinners at Commis, Saison, Atelier Crenn, and Commonwealth.

As Chowhounds note in this discussion, the Omnivore World Tour website leaves much to be desired (including a notice that the event had been delayed from its original start date of October 19). To avoid being driven nuts by bad web design, avoid the homepage: start with this link and navigate by clicking the event links listed to the left.
