San Francisco’s Dogpatch neighborhood has seen massive growth, thanks to biotech startups, new condos, and the expansion of UCSF’s Mission Bay campus. Not surprisingly, according to a recent discussion on Chowhound, the restaurant scene has expanded along with the population.

So where do Chowhound users like to have lunch in this emerging neighborhood? moto likes Just for You Café, where the cooked-from-scratch dishes and excellent beignets come with moderate prices. meka adores the pizzas, salads, and panini at Piccino (pictured), which expanded into a large, airy space with outdoor dining in 2011.

BernalKC adds a fourth vote for Piccino but adds another suggestion: grabbing lunch at Kitchenette, which operates off a loading dock. Afterwards, cruise into Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous for a spectacular dessert of seasonal ice cream. Sounds awfully civilized, doesn’t it?
