Healthy Happy Hour Drinks for Al Fresco Spring Fun

Outdoor happy hours are a spring staple, but the usual margarita or sangria can be high in calories and sugar. Although it can be hard to find healthy options, guilt free drinks help to celebrate spring while preparing for summer.  People, I know drinking outside can be tempting, but lets not sacrifice our summer bodies before the season has even begun.

Finding a healthy drink option is easier than you think and doesn't sacrifice on taste or flavor. The classics are tempting but they're also filled with sugar and artificial flavorings. You can, and should, treat your body better than that - because indulging doesn't have to be a dirty word. These healthy happy hour drink options are affordable and easy on the waistline, they're also perfect for drinking outside, and fit conveniently in every picnic basket or beach bag.

Spindrift Sparkling Water

Spindrift Sparkling Water is the first and only sparkling water made with real, fresh fruit. Founded in 2010, Spindrift celebrates simplicity and transparemcy. Free of any sweeteners or artificial ingredients, Spindrift consists of triple-filtered sparkling water and real fruit, with flavors like Grapefruit, Blackberry, Cucumber, Lemon & Raspberry-Lime. For a refreshing spring sipper, try a gin and cucumber cooler made with Prairie Organic gin. Prairie is made from single vintage organic corn distilled to taste. With a hint of juniper and a delicate finish, this is gin that’s light, refreshing and herbal.

Gin & Cucumber Cooler

  • Muddle several mint leaves, 1-2tsp honey, and fresh juice from half a lemon
  • Add 1 part Spindrift Cucumber and 1 part Prairie gin
  • Stir with ice then strain and pour over ice
  • Top with more Spindrift Cucumber to taste
  • Garnish with cucumber rounds and mint sprig

Enjoy Pampelonne

Drinking wine from a can doesn't exactly promise a complex, balanced beverage. But the canned goodies from Pampelonne are far from average. These portable pours are fresh, clean and crisp, and come in a variety of flavors like Rosé Lime, French 75 & Blood Orange Spritz. Each can is gluten free, amounts to about 110 to 120 calories and 7-8 grams of sugar. Perfect for drinking outside, Pampelonne is all you need for a picnic - without the bottle opener or bulky glassware.

Truly Spiked & Sparkling
