Tater Tot Pita Sandwich

Like most college students, we were often short on cash, and therefore, short on food. On one drunken night, we hit the jackpot. The contents of our refrigerator were: Tater Tots, American Cheese, and Pita Bread…. what would you do in a situation like this? TATER TOT SANDWICH.

A STAR WAS BORN!

We’ve carried the recipe well beyond our college years and it’s a staple at most of our tailgates.

Instructions

  1. 1Cook the tater tots in either a deep fryer or on a grill.
  2. 2Cut the cheese in slices and the pit bread in halves.
  3. 3Place a couple slices of cheese in each pita half.
  4. 4Place a handful of tater tots in each pita half-6-10 tater tots depending on the size of the tots and the size of the pita.
  5. 5Add mustard and serve! Bread and Butter pickles are optional. Other condiments may be added, but best to keep it classic!
