Ingredients (3)

  • 4 1" thick chops (best with veal or pork, but good with lamb as well)
  • 1 bottle of Blue Moon Summer brew
  • 1/3 cup apricot preserves (raspberry or orange marmalade also ok instead, if preferred)

My family loves BBQ, including our cat! And we love beer, so why not combine them? Not just chops & suds, but spruce up the chops for a refreshing change when you entertain. The bitterness of a beer combined with the sweetness of preserves makes a delicious sauce for chops and roasts alike.


  1. 1In a small saucepan, simmer preserves with a bit of water until fluid, mixing constantly.
  2. 2Slowly add 1 bottle of room-temperature beer into saucepan just when preserves begin to form tiny bubbles.
  3. 3Continue mixing for 3 minutes. Allow to cool on stove for a few minutes until it begins to thicken slightly.
  4. 4Wash chops and pat dry. Put half the sauce into a bowl with chops let marinate, covered, for at least 20 minutes in fridge, turning once.
  5. 5Set chops onto hot BBQ rack (or indoors on broiler pan in stove) that had been spray-greased while still cool. Brush chops with remaining sauce to baste each side. Flip every 1-2 minutes to avoid burning sauce. Cook to desired internal preference.
