I ate lunch at my favorite Arab restaurant today. They were closed last night, but they are open for business and I encourage you all to go there and support the owners, who are clearly in just as much shock over the unthinkable that happened two days ago as I am. I had a delicious meal: a wonderfully peppery merguez sandwich and a powerful fresh mint tea. For those of you who've never been to Zaytoons, in addition to having great food, it provides friendly service, has some nice decor (Arab lamps and such), and plays pleasant Arabic music. I spoke with the owners, and they were grateful for my solidarity with them. Let's all support our Muslim and Arab brother and sister New Yorkers. We have all been victimized by savages; let's make sure the Arab and Muslim communities in our city are not victimized a second time. And have wonderful food and drink at the same time!
