I'd love to find out what the slightly sweet, pink-colored vinegar that's pronounced "yum" (or something close to that) in Vietnamese is actually called. Some restaurants that I go to understand what I mean, some don't. It's wonderful in pork-base soups with thin egg noodles, such as mi xa xiu and mi sui cao. I always ask for it with these kinds of soups. Or try to, anyway.
