Yucatasia Report...

rossinfefer | Apr 14, 2006 05:42 PM

Yucatasia is on Mission between 17th and 18th.
I had read the review posted here previously and went to check it out for lunch.

I won't keep you in suspense. The food is good! Tacos w/ homeade tortillas. They had four on display to show what they were and the gal working at the counter was helpful in pointing out what each was. Service was very attentive.

I had a variety plate with all four tacos. There were three chicken and one beef brain. The chicken were all prepared different ways. The roast chicken was succulent on a crispy taco, the beef brain just melted in the mouth. There was another chicken one with a lot of flavor but the chicken was a little dry and stringy. One other that I especially liked had a black herb sauce that went over the meat.

All the tacos had really unique topings with little bits of fresh herb, grilled onion, etc. Really nicley prepared for 8 bucks! Decent fresh made tamarindo juice too!!!!

I saw other orders come out for whole roast chicken legs and soups that looked really delicious.

The other folks that were there looked at me a little oddly. I felt a little like I was "invading turf" from some of the stares I was getting, but this is as likely to be my imagination as anything.

I definitely recommend this place for something good, new, different.
