In an unrelated thread below (the one dealing with tiki restaurants), someone mentioned the Yenching Palace, which is at the corner of Porter and Connecticut, NW, in DC. I've lived in Cleveland Park and, more recently, Chevy Chase (DC) for 28 years and have never been there. What's more, I don't think anyone I know has ever been there. And my spouse, a DC native, doesn't know anyone who has ever eaten at the Yenching Palace, either. So here's the question: has anyone on this board (other than, perhaps, the person who mentioned the Palace's pupu platter (and duct tape) on the other thread) eaten at the Yenching Palace reasonably recently (say, since 1972)? If so, what did you think? It was supposedly popular with the Chinese Embassy staff when diplomatic relations were first established during the Nixon era.
