Hounds interested in a lunch at Yee Hwa, a fairly new Korean place in Herndon, next week (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday, noonish) should contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please state your preferred day.
Yee Hwa is indeed related to the one downtown, but under separate management. We've eaten there 5 times now and the food is consistently good and authentic. It is high-end, meaning that the interior is clean, nicely decorated (except for the celophane covers on the white leather chairs), and you get about 8 banchan (the side dishes)and complementary persimmon/ginger tea at the end of the meal.
The food is on a par with Hee Been (prior to their remodeling) or Sorak Garden. The heat levels on the hottest dishes are about perfect: assertively hot, but not so much that you cannot taste the food.
Prices are in the usual range for high-end Korean, meaning that the damage, if we take the usual hound approach to stuffing ourselves silly by ordering too much, will be in the $20-35 range.
If you're more interested in a dinner, let me know. Dinner would be a chowpup friendly event.
