New Years Eve in Brooklyn--share your experience

I think it would be useful for those of us who had dinner New Years Eve at a Brooklyn restaurant to share the experience. I'll start.

We ate at the Garden Cafe in Prospect Heights. It worked out very well. I dislike restaurants which dumb down their menus for special occassions, offering, say, salmon, chicken breast, and fillet mignon. I thought Garden Cafe would avoid this, and so they did.

For $65 there was a flute of champagne, 3 amuse bouche, choice of foie gras terrine or mushroom salad, choice of prawns, squab or veal short rib, and dessert. All very nicely done. The sound level and table spacing were comfortable, and the service was friendly. For those seeking to bring a speacial bottle, there was a $20 corkage fee. It was a 10 minute walk to the Prospect Park fireworks.

What was your experience?
