Yearly Kelly's visit

If I hadn't driven to Salem then Hampton Beach the day before, I would have done a proper north shore clam run on Sun. But I decided to make life easier and opted for Kelly's on Revere Beach (and it *was* a gorgeous day). Even after disappointing chewy clams last year. While the meal wasn't great, my biggest disapointment this time was that they got rid of their wacky signs with pictures of all the items offered (still up at the ice cream place). Now it's a generic board which makes it easier to raise prices as they had for most items except the lobster roll and clam plate ($15.95 ea). I went with a clam roll which had gone up a $1 to $9.95, comes with fries and a couple rings. I think the minute it's wrapped in foil starts to decrisp everything, that may have not been crisp enough to start off with. It's more than enough food and it wasn't bad, but it just wasn't nearly as good as it could be. And the seagull/pigeon situation is overwhelming, those things are disgusting and I want to kick the idiots who feed them. In any case, I still need another real clam fix before the weather turns.
