Yay for Yeah!

I finally made it to Yeah Shanghai Deluxe (at 65 Bayard Street, across the street from New Green Bo, next door to the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory), and have to concur with several previous posters: this is a wonderful place.

Three of us shared spicy cabbage, northern style roast chicken, tofu with crab meat, chrysanthemum fish, and spicy minced meat noodle. The standouts were the tofu with crab meat (as if an egg drop soup with crab spawned mutant tofu -- absolutely addictive comfort food) and the moist and flavorful chicken, light and dark shredded chicken covered with skin. The chyrsanthemum fish was cooked perfectly, but was in a generic, extremely sweet sweet and sour sauce. From this dish, I'm sure the kitchen has a sure hand with fish preparations -- can't wait to go back for a braised or steamed whole fish.

The service was just wonderful, with two friendly and ironic waiters. The back room is quite pleasant. The only downside was that we were faced with several Chinese menus that we couldn't decipher. Next time! The place was full of large groups -- this is a perfect place for a party.
