Yank Sing & HOPR report

Mil Mascaras | Apr 4, 2005 01:25 PM

It is Monday morning and my wife and I are still stuffed after a big dinner at House of Prime Rib and brunch at Yank Sing, how silly are we!

House of Prime Rib Sat night:
A truly wonderful dinner. First, the service exceeded my expectations; everyone was very nice and polite, not to mention full of class. Our waiter was charming, yet not intruding.
The salad was decent, don't know what the dressing was, maybe a light Thousand Island, but the preparation was the fun part. Oh, and the Sourdough loaf was delicious, Tartine eat your heart out.
Now, for the big moment, the Meat was simply delicious, the best prime rib of my life. My wife and I ordered the city cut. For desert, we ordered some layered chocolate cheescake thing that was pretty tasty. We mentioned to the waiter that they left the drinks off our bill, a manager came along and told us since we were honest the drinks were on the house.

House of Prime Rib is an experience, I'll be back in maybe two months, enough time to digest my dinner .

Yank Sing Sunday morning:
Altough the whole meal was great, I was a little dissapointed in a couple of things. We had a reservation so we did not have to wait. Of course all the dumplings were delicious, but the soft shell crab was a little disappointing.
I think the biggest disappointment came when they brought the bill. I was forewarned on this board, but I it did seem a little expensive. Oh well, it was a weekend where my wife and I wanted to splurge a little. We tried a lot of things, can't remember how many but the bill came out to $100.00 tip included for two people *%Ouch ;).
