In May, I took a break from driving in the rain for early dinner at Yang's Noodles. Besides being mentioned here, I’d been wanting to try Yang’s because the culinary team at Elk Grove's Journey to the Dumpling used to work here.
I tried the hand-pulled noodles in the form of Zha Jiang Mian. Forgot to order this dry-style, which is my preference, so this was too wet and sweet for my taste. Also, the noodles were cooked too soft. But extra points for nice knifework.
Better luck with the boiled dumplings, these had medium-thick wrappers with a satisfying chewiness and pork-chive filling. And the garlicky-vinegar dipping sauce was just the right accent.
