xlb: Din Tai Fung in SF? <- nasty rumor perhaps?

I thought I read a rumor here that DTF was going to open a branch in SF? Does anybody else have information on this?

I was eating at the original DTF in Taipei last week, and I have to say that it was awfully disappointing.... disappointing that nothing in the Bay Area Compares! xlb at DTF in Taipei had improbably elastic and super thin skins ... and ... very important ... the filling was very *Refined*. Plenty of soup inside.

The instant I got back home I steamed some frozen xlb I had in the freezer from Shanghai East in SanMateo AND Shanghai in Oakland and I have to say that these are horrible imposters of xlb ... thick skins and horrible coarse and unrefined filling.

Which is totally unfortunate because without the reference point of DTF in Taiwan, local xlb seems pretty good.

Anyways, SuHong, Shanghai East, China First .... are all unfortunately very weak in comparison.. So if DTF is opening up locally that would be fantastic.

I was reading about all the locations of DTF at the restuarant last week and I think the newest one they are opening up that they mention right now is in Seoul... but no SF.
