My solo lunch stop after wine shopping, https://www.chowhound.com/post/season..., was a visit to XLB, the restaurant closest to our house.

Unfortunately, the steamed dumplings were not brought immediately to my table and were not as hot as they should be. Still, the Xiao long bao, $11/8, were quite tasty despite losing something presumably due to temperature and being deflated. Naturally sweet loose ground pork without too much sugar, and lots of fatty soup were a little plain. A teeny bit more ginger, salt and/or sesame oil could pop out more flavor. The skins were very thin, too thin actually. Three broke when I placed them on the spoon. The default condiment is red vinegar with slivered ginger even though shelf has bottles of black vinegar. I asked for both.

Though this report might sound awfully picky, I did enjoy the xlb. I'd order them again if I had a craving for Chinese food.
