As someone with an interest in baking, my curiosity was piqued by this article in Sunday's Washington Post. Is anyone familiar with Wye Mill or the Wheat Festival? Is it worth a trip?
"to the folks at the Wye Grist Mill & Museum on Maryland's Eastern Shore, grain is still king. The Mill, over 250 years old, grinds meal and flour in the summer, using the same technology it did during the Industrial Revolution. Visitors can buy samples and check out a display of colorful flour sacks -- one of them cut into a chic shirt. This Saturday you can also join in as the mill hosts its annual Wheat Festival, with live music, local artisans and tons of homemade food."
