Wüsthof Laminated Wooden Handles

TomDel | Jan 20, 2008 08:01 AM

I have a 10 in. Wüsthof – Trident slicer (model 4522) with a laminated wooden handle that’s about 30 years old. Over the years it’s probably been put in the dishwasher a few too many times. In any event, the handle has started to delaminate. Wüsthof must have this problem with a lot of these knives as they stopped making them 25 years ago and address the problem in their warranty literature. They won’t replace them but they will give the owner a 62.5% discount on a new knife of comparable size and style.

My question is, is there anyone out there who repairs these knives by replacing the handles? Or better yet, is there a handle kit that I could buy and replace the old one myself? Google didn’t turn up anything.
