My roommate and I are baffled. This is the first time either of us has made rice krispie treats, but we figured it wouldn't be that difficult. My roommate followed Kellogg's recipe to a T and her treats came out so dry and hard that you can barely bite into them - and they were only a few hours old! So then later I didn't believe that she had followed the recipe and we tried again, being very very careful to do everything right. Two hours later, our treats had cooled and they were too hard to eat! I've tasted homemade Rice Krispie treats before and they are definitely not so hard - they're a little more pliable. Let me know what I'm doing wrong! The recipe we followed, by the way is 3tbsp butter, one 10 oz package large marshmallows and 6 cups rice krispies. Thank you!
