Looking to "wow" my woman with sushi/kaiseki, budget $175 for two. Help!

...So I am planning on taking my girlfriend for Japanese for our anniversary. We are sushi lovers and consider ourselves somewhat well educated in sushi. So far, our favorite has been Tomoe.

I'm looking to try some new places and need some chowhound help! I've got around $150-175 to spend total.

Here's what I'm thinking:

Sugiyama - Won't be able to afford the chef's choice kaiseki's, but would probably get the 8 or 10 course modern kaiseki. Here's a menu i found. http://www.toprestaurants.com/ny/Yama...
Are these lower priced choices worth it, and will they be indicative of the quality of the restaurant?

Blue Ribbon Sushi - Never been, but heard good things. For my budget, we could get a lot. Will the omakase be too much $?

Aki - Recommended by a friend. I'm a little apprehensive about the whole Jamaican influence thing, but it could be good. We could probably get a great meal for my budget.

Sushi of Gari - Would like to go, but it sounds too expensive.

Others to consider - Yama, Hatsuhana, etc...any others?

Ability to make reservations is a plus, as is atmosphere, since this is supposed to be a romantic dinner!

I'd appreciate any advice you have.

Thanks,
D
