went last night with 6 friends. we were all wowed by the price:quality ratio... what an incredible deal! $8 a person with generous tip for a huge amount of great food.
we had the tandoori fish, chicken korma, chicken boti, chicken saag, the eggplant veggie, naan, rice, and another flatbread with potatoes inside. i ordered the potato fritters, or i thought i did, and this flatbread wasn't what i was expecting. really good though.
the tandoori fish was awesome. i thought the boti was rather boring (one of our party was spice-adverse), but i did really like the saag and korma. the eggplant dish was kind of sweet, but also good.
as mentioned by others, the meal took forever to come. and then forever again to get the bill. but it felt like i was in someone's home, and someone's culinarily gifted parent was making dinner. i liked being able to watch him cook.
we were given some sort of dessert at the end. the man said it was mango pistachio ice cream, but it was cut in pyramids and served on toothpicks. more flaky than creamy. i wouldn't order it, but it was nice to try.
we are all planning on going back very soon.
thank you 'hounds for introducing me to this gem!
