The worst breakfast ever! (kinda long)

I just wanted to let all of you know about the worst eating experience I've had in quite a while. My sister and I went to breakfast at the USA diner (formerly known as Two Brothers) on Merrick Blvd. near the Queens/Long Island border on the recommendation of a friend. I will never go back.

When we walked in, I thought 'well, it must be tasty' as it was quite crowded--not packed, but crowded. After waiting approximately five minutes, we were seated at a booth where we waited for our waiter to offer us coffee. Or tea. Or anything.

After fifteen minutes, I called a waiter over who insisted it wasn't his station (I was simply asking him to locate our waiter). By the time he understood what I was requesting, a waitress came by saying she'd be with me in a moment, "honey". After a couple more minutes of waiting, she lead over yet another waiter to take our order.

Not five minutes after taking our order, he was back with our food, which was an immediate "uh-oh" in my book. And that's just what the food was. My grits were lukewarm (to the point that the cheese I'd requested on them wouldn't melt), my over medium eggs were over easy, and my bacon (which came after the rest of my food) cold. My sister fared slightly better in that her over hard eggs were just that; but her french toast was so lukewarm it took five minutes for the butter (which she had to request after they brought over these cups of a rather nasty looking margarine) to melt.

All in all, a pretty horrid experience. I complained to the manager who offered me free desserts (which looked like the fake food they use for commercials); but I will never go back there again.

Please take my suggestions, all you Queens/Long Island chowhounds, and stay away. Faaaar away!
