We are having friends over to watch the India vs Sri Lanka Cricket World Cup final. I have been cooking since yesterday: the food is meant to reflect the cuisine of the two countries. We are having 3 vegetarian curries: a spinach and kidney bean one (recipe from Western India), a paneer one with a tomato-based sauce (from Kashmir, the recipe does not include peas but I added some peas anyway) and a potato, carrot and beet curry with grated coconut sort of in the style of a thoran from Kerala. We are also having a Sri Lankan style dal made with coconut milk and a dry spicy chicken preparation (like Chicken 65) that you get in Sri Lankan Tamil restaurants here.
Anyone else celebrating the World Cup final with food?
