Working class breakfast in Oakland/Berkeley/E'ville?

patrick | Dec 18, 200112:10 PM     22

Since moving here from Seattle in 2000, I have been able to find just about everything I desire in the restaurants and food stands of the Bay Area. But there is one thing missing: a good, cheap, honest, maybe a little greasy, place to get breakfast. We had a few favorites in Seattle, mainly Voula's on the lake union docks.

There are of course no shortage of great breakfast places in north oakland and berkeley, like Mama's and Le Bateau Ivre. BUT we are still lookin' for that workingman's greasy spoon. Sysco truck parked in front not a problem. Dearth of body piercings amidst clientele not a problem. Hoping for downtown oakland, north oakland, emeryville, or berkeley.

Any ideas?

I know I'll get at least one suggestion from this query and that's why I LOVE Chowhound. Please help keep this valuable resource around by clicking on the link below and buying something or just sending a donation.
