A word about China Star

Not that any of you needed to be told this, but I thought I'd post an exclamation...

I was SO HAPPY with my first visit to China Star!

When the menu says "numbing", they mean it! We took home half the Kung Pao Chicken (yes, my kids insisted on ordering something they recognized) - I had the remaining half-plate "diluted" with a HUGE amount of rice (and a bit of kung pao sauce I make mild by the quart, for family dinners, and keep in the fridge) for lunch today and it was still numbing!

My Crispy Dry-Fried Beef was just perfect - there's a real chef back there, even at lunch, and I will definitely be back - if I take the kids and the Mrs we can order something mild but wonderful-sounding, I suppose.

It's been a long time since my insides asked my "Why did you do that to us?" and I just smiled with pleasant memories of some genuine heat.
