A friend and I had Thanksgiving dinner at the well-known Girl & the Fig in Sonoma. I had been there for lunch a few times, but not for a few years. We both agreed that it was some of the best food we'd ever had. There wasn't anything presented, down to the smallest item, that wasn't special. We started with "The Works" (three selections of cheese, cured meats, seasonal fruit, house-made fig cake, spiced nuts & baguette ) and then shared one four-course prix fixe dinner. Many items of great-tasting food without stuffing ourselves. Of course it was a full house, and would be so for several hours, and we marveled how the impeccable quality and presentation (and service) was kept so high.
