Was browsing for a Chinese place on Ave U (just past Coney Island Avenue) a couple of days ago and wound up in Wing Shing, one of several seafood places over there. My husband had the noodle soup w/seafood, which was decentwhat you would expect. But the standout was an order of stirfried "leek flowers," which looked like tiny stringbeans, but were actually sort of like the green part of scallions but thinner and more tender. They were prepared with garlic and ginger and were really delicious. I'm not sure if they're on the regular menu; I ordered them after seeing them on someone else's table.
There was a place across the street, something like Nice Gourmet Chinese Restaurant, that looked cleaner than Wing Shing and kind of promising, but they didn't have dumplings (required by my 5-year-old). Has anyone been there?
