I'm planning to make an anniversary dinner for my wife and I next week and wanted to get some inspiration for a main dish (or anything else for the dinner as well). We have a syrah we're planning to drink that night, a Paraduxx from Napa that's 86% Syrah and 14% Grenache.
My wife would *prefer* to not get into gamey meats, which limits some more classic syrah pairings. That's fine -- there's a whole world of beef or pork that could work, I imagine. I was thinking of something using bacon or some kind of smokiness, but maybe also trying to keep in mind that it's spring and could be 80 degrees here.
Anyone have a recipe that they love and want to share? I'm feeling a bit uninspired but obviously wanted to put together a nice menu for the night, based around the wine. We visited Napa for the first time a few months back and have lots of wonderful memories, so I wanted to pair something around one of the wines we brought back for the special occasion.
Thanks for any insight!
