Okay, I have read the many posts and tips on securing a French Laundry reservation and am bracing to do speed-dial battle soon for a first-time visit.
In dreaming about my meal I was wondering what the best approach would be WRT wine. The $50 corkage makes me think that bringing something would not be the way to go, particularly if I don't really know what I'll be having that evening. So here are my questions:
-Are there flights of wine that are paired and offered with the tasting menu? If so, have people found these to be a good match/value? (meaning value in the context of FL economics)
-Or does it work well to have a red and white standing by at all times to marry with the courses as they appear? Does anyone have experience with the staff's recommendations on this?
-Other FL wine tips/experieces appreciated.
