Wine bar in Toledo--Amboades

kenito799 | Jul 7, 200603:11 PM

Yes Toledo is touristy but after seeing the Disney-perfect Medieval town, gorging on partridge and suckling pig for lunch, having a siesta, watch the rowdy locals in the plaza then stroll to TABERNA AMBOADES (Alfonso VI, 5, near Bisagra gate). We relaxed with the proprietor and his wacky friends, learned about Spanish wines, tasted some fantastic dry morcilla (like butter), one of the highlights of our trip. Toledo is really kool at night after the tour buses leave...stay at Hotel Santa Isabel a few steps from the cathedral for 49 euros a night!
