wine bar in Sonoma County?

kim | May 18, 200406:32 PM

I'm a former long-time resident of Penngrove (tucked between Petaluma and Santa Rosa for those of you who haven't heard of it. Though by now it's on the map).

I left in 2000 and things have changed a little bit. I'm going back for memorial day and am looking for a good wine bar or bistro with a decent, if short, wine list. I'm looking for a good bargain; maybe $20 to $25 per person.

I recall 101 Main in Sebastopol as having a nice wine slection, but the 4th and 5th times I went, the food wsan't as good and the prices went up.

How about Twisted Vine in Petaluma? any good?

Other suggestions for Santa Rosa/Sebastopol area? Healdsburg is too far north for the evening I have in mind with 3 old friends. I'm thinking light fare, lots of wine, probably 3 hours of yapping and laughing.

We're going out on 5/31, so obviously I'm looking for a place that's open on Mondays.

I searched the listsings for Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Sonoma, but saw mostly wineries, taco stands, and falaffel shops.

thanks in advance.

Oh, any leads on 5/31 day time events would be appreciated!!
