Hi have been asked to bring wine to an informal shindig where the offerings will be a yam-red lentil soup (cumin-ginger seasonings); roasted beets, figs and goat cheese (balsamic reduction); tortilla-encrusted tilapia; and greens sauteed w/ garlic. at first i was thinking a sav blanc but then i started thinking red zinfandel. should i bring both and let people choose or does anyone have better suggestions? maybe a syrah is a medium-bodied red the wrong way to go? (i know the hostess prefers reds in general).
