Willow Creek Orchards

oliviasaru | Jul 31, 200805:37 PM     13

I've been meaning to get out to Willow Creek Orchards in Collegeville for nearly two years. Today my 4-year-old and I finally went, and it was great! They have pick-your-own blackberries right now (we missed the strawberries) as well as pick-your-own flowers and herbs. We got a nice-sized basket of blackberries for about $7.

The farm market itself was lovely, with small quantities but a varied selection. I bought some peaches which were the best I've had in several years (never seem to pick them right at the supermarket, and ripening in the bag doesn't always work either), a delicious small blueberry pie with all-natural ingredients, and some Maple Cream in a jar which I'm dying to try on toast or pound cake. They have samples of fruit and cheese throughout the market area, and coffee that you can take to go.

I understand they have festivals throughout the year; you can check out their website and join their e-newsletter list at http://www.willowcreekorchards.com/.

A pleasant day's outing!
