My diet has been missing wild mushrooms since I left the bay area and the ridiculously inexpensive wild mushrooms that were available at the Berkeley Bowl. How in the world does the Berkeley Bowl sell chanterelles at $12 per pound anyway? But that's not what I need. I just need something/anything that's better priced than LA Funghi from the Hollywood Farmer's Market. His prices are just absurd, and I refuse to pay them. What ever happened to David West of Clearwater Farms? Is there something comparable? Is there a good mail order option? I just like to indulge in the occasional seasonal indulgence.
