The White Rainbow in Gloucester is a fine restuarant that has recently changed hands. The Lebanese owner presents an interesting and flavorful Arabic influence to its meat heavy menu.
The meal starts off with complimentary Arabic "meze" such as humus, eggplant and taboulie, all home made and delicious. Mrs. had a grilled scollops and I had an intruiging lobster dish special ($32.00). Not a bad idea to ask the costs of the specials first. With a cocktail, an appitizer each. entre each, glass of wine for the Mrs. and a beer for me with a memorable warm chocolate cake (shared) the final bill came to to $116.00. Not bad. Boston would have been $150.00.
Service was enthusiastic and efficient. Atmosphere is quiet and pleasant.
A nice drive from Boston. Check it out.
