New ish gem in Westport, Vespa, NY Italian transplant, busy Saturday night but well handled by the floor staff and kitchen. Cappelini with uni, lumache pasta cacio e pepe and guanciale, grilled octopus with spicy salad side, and a top notch NY strip grilled to perfection were highlights. I tried to order a Brunello which the restaurant had run out of. The owner came over with my second choice, a Bordeaux, then offered as an option to replace my Brunello with a superior one (and 20 dollars more expensive) at the same price as my original request....very smart and very generous. Hopefully this place survives and thrives at a difficult spot (jinxed but spectacular, right on the river). Def worth a visit if in the area.
