Western Smoke House--oh it was awful

Just a little neighborhood place, but I just have to rant.
Went there for lunch, had the Pancakes & Chicken ("2 corn pancakes topped with mashed potatoes, smoked chicken & country gravy").
From the description I thought everything would sort of be piled on top of each other and slathered in gravy. Instead, each item was placed separately on the plate, the gravy in a little plastic cup.

Chicken: it was a tiny little piece of chicken breast, there was some kind of seasoning on it which was pretty good, but the chicken was very dry.

Mashed potatoes: mashed with the skin, big chunks remained after the mashing; tasted like they mixed in water instead of milk.

Country gravy: the absolute worst thing on the plate, so overpowered with white pepper, probably to cover up the lack of any flavor.

Corn pancakes: flavor was good but so very dry. served with side of butter and honey, thank goodness.

My friend, a complete non-foodie, had the beef brisket sandwich with cole slaw. She thought it was okay; the brisket looked pretty dry to me.

The check: just one total; no breakdown of the orders, the drinks, the tax.
