West 70s dinner for me and dad TONIGHT--adventurous eaters

CiaoMela (formerly Eva and Ziv) | Dec 5, 2005 11:14 AM

Hi everyone. I'll be meeting my father for a semi-quick dinner tonight on the Upper West Side--upper 60s to mid-80s, between Broadway and CPW. Anything interesting in that area? Or short of interesting, is there any good, solid food?

We'll be eating around 6 or so and he needs to get to a meeting at 8 at 74th and CPW. We're both adventurous eaters, so almost any cuisine would be great: any Middle Eastern or African, most Asian (but no Chinese unless it's really special), fusions, or Italian. A Thai place, maybe? We'd prefer a quieter place where we can talk without yelling, but dives are acceptable if the food is great. Entrees in the $teens to low $20s would fit the bill, and we won't be drinking, so alcohol is not an issue.

Please let me know if we'll need a reservation so I can call right away. TIA, hounds!
