Restaurants & Bars 3

Crepuscule - San Francisco | Sep 30, 2004 12:43 AM

My husband and I had a great dinner at the new creperie, Crepuscule (Bush Street at the corner of Stockton next to the Tunnel Top bar) that I had heard about on Chowhound (thread linked below) and also read about at Sixy Beast's food blog. I had the La Nordique crepe with shrimp and smoked salmon and my husband had the croque madame. He had a glass of merlot (Languedoc) and I a glass of Pinto Blanc from Alsace. We also shared a bowl of onion soup (owner's grandmother's recipe) and a side order of Belgian frites. Eveything was excellent and reasonably priced. For dessert we shared a wonderful crepe suzette and two cappucinos. Total bill was $51.00 not including tip. The restaurant offers a cozy, romantic atmosphere. It's just across the street and a few doors down from Masa's where we went for my b-day dinner last year and I must say this was, in many ways, more enjoyable in its understated, intimate (and much less expensive!) way.
