Weird, unhospitable experiences lately at Michel Cluizel

Even though it's really overpriced, I occasionally like to stop by ABC Carpet & Home's Michel Cluizel chocolate cafe. But recently whenever I go, there's almost no customer service. The not-very-friendly manager is always there preparing the employees for some big event involving the cafe. I stand next to the chocolate display and no one will even notice that there's a customer. Maybe that's part of the reason for the empty room lately.

The chocolates are, of course, superb, but on another recent visit I asked for a simple dessert and it took the employee about 10 minutes to figure out how to drizzle chocolate on a piece of stale pound cake. He apologized and said he didn't know how to "make" the dessert. Which is fine, but when you're paying $9 for a slice of cake you would hope it had been plated well.
