A few weekend eats - Kelly's, Karl's, and River Gods

Went to Kelly's in Saugus Saturday for lunch. I had the roast beef with onions and bbq sauce along with an order of onion rings. The sandwich was great, quite beefy, but a bit on the dry side. The rings were hard, overcooked and generally just terrible. My friend had the cheese fries - what an abomination! Frozen fries with cheese whiz and sketchy bacon plus about 3 lbs of salt.

Picked up a mess of different sausages at Karl's Sausage Kitchen while I was up there. I got two smoked polish sausages, two smoked brats, and two smaller brats (not smoked) and two andoille. Everything but the andoille was enjoyed by all (with some sweet/hot mustard) yesterday during the game. Spent about $20 for all the above.

Saturday night a friend and I went to grab some pints and grub at River Gods. I really need to hit this place more. The sausage and white bean soup with potatoes was excellent with just the right bit of spice. Toast points were also good crushed up in the soup. I could eat 3 big bowls of that soup. The lamb rib chops "heavy appetizer" was also quite good, it came with two perfectly cooked rib chops on a bed of greans and some vegetable (maybe sweet potatoes but due to the pints I forgot what it was). Soup was like $6, lamb like $12.
