Weekend in Bordeaux: looking for fun places to eat and drink

damiano | Mar 26, 201908:50 AM     28

So, I'll be going to Bordeaux in May with 2 close friends (3 males in total). While I'll always appreciate and seek out great food, for this trip the focus will be on fun, crowded places with lots of youngsters (20/30 somethings). It will be my first time in Bordeaux but not in France: I'm a relatively experienced traveler, so I know the customs and speak the language a bit.

I'm looking for 2 dinners (Friday and Saturday), one Sunday lunch, and lots of places for aperitifs and digestifs/(cocktail)bars. For Saturday lunch I want to keep things open for now as I'm also considering renting a car and driving out to the countryside (any tips then?).

I don't like fancy places, no Michelin stars, no grey/black/green/funny dinnerware. I want to go where the locals go who have some money to spend and do so regularly. One place I've pinned down so far is Le Bouchon Bordelais, so I'm considering making a reservation for Friday evening.

We will have an airbnb located close to the Place de la Bourse (Rue Saint-Rémi).

Any help would be much appreciated!
