I had lunch at Waterfall today based on the rave reviews on chowhound, and I was a little disappointed. I was entertaining some very squeamish guests so I intentionally ordered some mild selections: shawerma/kafta kebob combo with hummus and fool mouddamus (sp?) on the side.
The pita that accompanied the fool mouddamus was baked in the restaurant and fantastic! As was the hummos. It was exceptionally creamy and nicely flavored. The real problem was the shawerma and kafta. Both were unpleasantly dry and only tasted so-so. Actually, the kafta tasted more like beef than lamb and had an unpleasantly chewy texture. The main dish was accompanied with some lettuce and a slice of tomato. The fool mouddamus was separated in a whole-bean side and a pureed-bean side...something I haven't seen before. Both sides were a little thin, watery and nearly flavorless. The service was pleasant and very patient as we had several non-english speakers at the table.
Maybe I just ordered the wrong things...let me know if I was way off base.
