watercress dinner - 5 times this week

"Rice is Nice." | Jun 3, 200402:07 PM

My friend introduced me to this restaurant called Watercress in the mission district, a few weeks back, and I loved the food so much, i been back there 5 times already. The deal that simply is "too good to be true" is three course prefix menu all for $19.99!
The appetizers are all wonderful (go with the mussels) or the fresh raw oysters, and many others that are just fine (the salads are not my preference, at first the calamari was a bit soggy or not left in the fryer long enough, but recent visits i noticed the seafood rings have been golden brown-excellent!
On to the main course, for all the visits I have been there, The New York steak has simply been cooked to a perfect medium rare- consistenly everytime. The lamb shank is just as good, as my friend and I shared on one occasion. The salmon is also quite tasty. The Desserts are equally great! Choice of 6 desserts to choose from, the ginger creme brulee is different, but the chocolate genoise is again, my all time favorite, dessert sampler plate with chocolate, profiterole, berries, and some type of chocolate cake all miniture sizes---very cute presentation!
Try it before they start raising prices to this great dinner all for under $20.00 ( i have a feeling they probably already raised prices, they see me keep coming back with family and friends.)
