My husband and I went to Warsaw Cafe (16th & Spruce) last night. In my opinion, this restaurant is one of the hidden dining treasures in Philadelphia. Since it's been around for over 25 yrs, I feel it doesn't get the press it deserves. The atmosphere is very cozy (red tables, dim lighting, large framed French posters on the walls, Amelie soundtrack on the stereo). Our charming server, Peter gave us several suggestions for our meal. To begin our meal, we decided on the petite syrah for our wine and the smoked trout crepes as our appetizer which was the highlight of our meal. My husband had stuffed cabbage as his entree and I had the wienerschnitzel. Both entrees were very good. For dessert, I had the raspberry linzer torte and he had the cheesecake. The service was very efficient and pleasant throughout. We had a great dining experience and recommend that our fellow Chowhounds visit/revisit Warsaw Cafe.
