Warsaw-at last

Andy Grushewski | Jan 3, 2004 05:03 PM

Last month I have visited Warsaw.Well Polish food is not exactely Poland's strongest contribution to the gastronomique world, but it was a pleasant surprise. There are many restaurants all over and they are even trying hard to please. Many places are nicely designed and they are not trying to do the same tricks as in the good old days, but start to understand the meaning of free competition. There are even many ethnic restaurant, and generaly the prices are still low in comparison to other continent capitals.

if you plan a trip to Warsaw, a good Polish food eatery is TRADIGJA,an International-European at it's best with Polish favorites is ARTIBUS at the museum of Modern Art,a good MEXICAN IS FRIDA at the Intercontinental hotel,a good Japaneese is at Mokotow Mall.If you head to the croudy Old Town ,beware of tourists traps places which will make you pay dearly for your evening out.
One of the most charming places is Fret@porter at the New Town Square.Romantic lively atmoshere and many celebrity guests.
Over all Warsaw is still a long way from Paris ,but we start to see the light...
Don't forget-January is Carnival time is Poland so expect a hot social calendar...
