Wallingford, CT - Is it really a culinary wasteland?

A coworker and I have been searching for some decent chow in Wallingford, CT. There are chain restaurants and fast food joints as far as they eye can see, and from what we have experienced, very little quality chow.

We have tried John Carvers (inexpensive lunch, could have had the same fare at a Denny's), Archie Moore's (average pub grub), Sabbaticals (more mediocre bar food), Gigantes (decent deli sandwiches, stay away from their microwaved hot sandwiches) and Cafe Ra (better than your average deli).

We tried to go to Mexican 2000 (despite the cheezy name), but when we arrived they were closed, even though the hours on their door indicated they were open.

Next on our list is the Yankee Silversmith. Is there any place worthy of our lunch hour or should we give up and start brown bagging it more? Our only requirement is a sit down place, not take out.
